With Britain and the US currently in the depths of winter, I thought I’d tell you all about the moisturisers I rely on in the cooler weather. I suffer from really dry and sensitive skin that’s prone to eczema flare-ups, so I always need a good moisturiser when the weather cools down. I tend to alternate between a few as A) I get bored of the same scent/feeling easily, and B) I’m a firm believer that it’s never a bad idea to mix things up so your skin doesn’t get used to anything.
Dr Organic Manuka Honey
This is my go-to moisturiser when I have an eczema flare up on my face. It instantly soothes and calms it, and I use it everyday for about a week after the flare-up just to rehydrate my skin and keep any dryness at bay. It’s also fab for any flaky skin – I tend to use it on my face after I’ve been sunburnt.
Ah Skincare Elderberry Moisturiser
Ah Skincare is one of my favourite organic beauty brands. It’s a small UK based family company, and Andrea creates the most beautiful products. The Elderberry Moisturiser is a favourite of mine! The scent is very subtle and light, and it makes a fabulous everyday day-time moisturiser as it soaks into the skin very quickly.
Caudalie Vinosouce Serum SOS
This is a product I purchase every single year, it’s just brilliant! It’s very thin and light (to be completely honest it’s a bit like *ahem*), but it goes on like a dream and soaks in INSANELY fast…but keeps your skin moisturised all day/night long. I personally use it as a night cream each night, but you could easily use it as a day moisturiser and put your makeup straight on over the top.
MooGoo MSM Cream
Another eczema-friendly moisturiser, MooGoo is one of my favourite Aussie brands that you can now buy in the UK! All of their creams and moisturisers are incredibly gentle and soothing on the skin, and I adore the milky smell of them. The MSM Cream is my favourite of them all, and I tend to mix between the Ah Skincare one and this for my day-to-day use.
