Dr Bronner’s is an organic product that many people consider using because of it’s simple ingredients and the fact you can use it for multiple purposes. However, there are lots of different types of Dr Bronner’s products, including the bar soap, which can cause confusion over which is best for sensitive skin. The two main types of Dr Bronner’s famous product however, are the Castile Soap and the Organic Pump Soap. As one of them is much better for sensitive skin than the other, I thought I would tell you more about the differences and what makes one better than the other for people like us who have extra sensitive skin.

Dr Bronner Pure-Castile Liquid Soaps

The Dr Bronner’s Pure-Castile Liquid Soaps are the traditional castile soap that users have loved for years and years. It’s a very simple soap and is a brilliant and versatile all-rounder. You can use it for just about any cleaning task, including on your face, body, and hair, as well as cleaning the dishes, laundry, mopping, pets! Using this soap you can clean your house and body with just one product, which contains no synthetic preservatives, detergents or foaming agents. But, you must dilute it. Because of the variety of uses and ingredients, it is quite harsh on the skin if you suffer from sensitive skin, so it isn’t the best for eczema sufferers and those with sensitive skin.

Also it’s important to note that the Dr Bronner Pure-Castile Liquid Soap is the only product to use for household cleaning! The Organic Sugar Pump Soaps do not work with cleaning dishes, doing laundry etc, and this article is purely about which product is better to use on sensitive skin for skin and hair uses.

Dr Bronner Organic Sugar Soaps

The newer Dr Bronner’s Organic Sugar Pump Soaps has been created purely for the skin and hair. It’s a more moisturising product and instead of water it has Organic White Grape Juice, which is super moisturising. The Organic Pump Soap also includes Organic Sucrose, and Organic Shikakai Powder, making it much thicker and more moisturising than the Pure-Castile Liquid Soap. You don’t need to dilute the product and it comes in a pump dispenser bottle, making it a great product to use and far simpler than having to dilute the original! The Dr Bronner’s Organic Sugar Pump Soap is also USDA certified organic.

How the ingredients in the Organic Sugar Pump Soap work

The Organic White Grape Juice acts as a humectant, which means it’s something that helps the skin retain its natural moisture. The Organic Sucrose is also a humectant, and caramelized sucrose keeps the soap from coagulating and clogging the pumps. The organic Shikakai Powder conditions Skin and Hair as it cleanses. It’s a thickening agent and is derived from a south Asian tree, the acacia concinna, and has long been used in traditional Indian body care as a moisturizing skin and body cleanser.
