WHAT IS DYSHIDROTIC ECZEMA?

Dyshidrotic eczema is also called pompholyx, and is a skin condition where you get itchy blisters on your hands and feet. The main symptoms of dyshidrotic eczema are itchy blisters on your palms, the sides of your fingers and the soles and sides of your feet. It’s not clear what causes dyshidrotic eczema, but things that may make it worse include some skin infections, sweat, certain metals and chemicals, and stress.

You can treat dyshidrotic eczema with various emollients and antihistamines from the pharmacy. If these don’t work, a GP can prescribe a steroid cream. Unfortunately I haven’t yet found a natural or organic cream that works and gets rid of my dyshidrotic eczema, so I use a steroid cream prescribed by my doctor.
